OSPs include BPO/call centers, e-commerce, telebanking, telemedicine, education, and other IT enabled services. The Department of Telecommunication under the New Telecom Policy (NTP) 1999 made it compulsory for OSPs using telecom resources to obtain licenses from the DoT.
